Wednesday; I had to hurry up and pack for the trip, take a shower, and try to get a couple of hours of sleep. Well, turns out we got a late start the next day,we being my mom and I, and left around 10-ish instead of 4 am (Thank Gawd!). Another thankful thing was my mom drove the entire way there, and I slept the whole way save to get out and get gas and lunch. I've been so exhausted between my animation class and work; I'm drained. So, after like 9 hours, we arrive to our hotel and check in. Not the greatest hotel... it was kind of dirty, but all of the others were booked, and apparently not that great either. At this point I said screw it and jumped into bed in my jeans, shoes, and everything else, lol. I didn't even take my laptop carrying bag off I was asleep that fast.
Day 1:
My mom woke me up at like... 5 am to take a shower and get ready to get breakfast. What?! 5am!? Yes, actually she got up at like 4 am and got herself ready, so I was spared at least an hour of extra sleep. Went and had cracker barrel since it was right across the street. Almost fell asleep in my pancakes and orange juice, but managed to eat enough that I got some energy. Then we started to head to the main event, where all of the classic cars were parked, etc. etc. Took about 10 -15 minutes to get back there because we actually had to go through this country neighborhood, on a two way lane, so there was traffic. Finally arrived and we started to look through all of the cars. Well, we ran into some people from Louisiana (where we're from)and they talked for about an hour. During that talk it started to rain :/ Figures, but this couple had a tent, so we were standing under that. The rain stopped, and we continued on; she talked to a bunch of people. I took pictures while listening to my Ipod touch (I <3 my Ipod touch). The whole day was pretty much that; walk around the cars, talk, walk some more, pictures, walk, and more walking. Then we hit the vendors section and she was like a little kid in a toy store getting numbers and prices for parts to go on her GTO and Chevelle she has, and I was lugging all of the bags. Oh my Gawd! She bought all these shirts, and then this bucket of polish, wax, detail, cleaners, more chrome/metal wax, engine lift chains, and then another bag was full of books and numbers, and lord knows what else.
I was dragging. It was hot (I actually got sunburned on my neck) and I was carrying around a bucket that weighed like 8 pds, plus the bags that each weighed 2 pds almost. Finally she was tired and hungry, and was ready to go. Went back to the hotel, showered again, and left to go eat dinner. We ate at this little cafe called Happy Days Diner. Really good food, and awesome, homemade milkshakes. After eating dinner, we bought tickets to the comedy show, but had like 2 hours before it started,s o we walked and saw more cars along the highway.Took some more picks, and we went into a gift shop and bought more shirts and stuff. I actually go this really awesome jacket. It's a Pontiac Fire bird jacket, and on the front there's a fire bird symbol with flames(or the phoenix), and on the back a bigger fire bird with some kind of gold design behind it. i will have to take pictures of it and post it along with the others. Actually I still need to post my cruise and Disney pics as well, hahaha. Well, we went to the show and OMG, we did not stop laughing the whole time. We actually bought the DVD because it was so funny. My favorite parts was when they called three men up there and the guy would bop them on the head and they had to open and close their mouths, and when he hit their backs they would have to nod. So, after getting through the names, which was funny itself, he got to the main reason which the music started to play and it was Bohemian Rhapsody, lol!!! So, when the singing part started he'd hit one or two on the head to make it like they were singing, and then in the end the nodding was them head banging, gah it was so funny I was crying. Then the other funny part was the ventriloquist; he picked two men from the audience and made them put on these half mask that had string on the mouth parts, so when he would do the voices, the mouths would move. That skit he had them singing, one was supposeto be a spanish singer the other was a guy with long hair, and the one with the hair would go along with the singing by moving his arms around, making faces with what face you could see, and dance a little. It was great.
Day 2:
Got up early again and had breakfast, but this time I spent most of the day in the hotel doing homework... yay. I finally finished it around 3:00 pm, because SYFY had one a bunch of werewolf movies hehe, and my mom came back to get ready for the dinner show we went and seen. That was really good too, The Black Bear Jamboree. The food was delicious, and the show was entertaining. It was singing and dancing, but different themes, like Hollywood, country, 50's, 70's, etc. After that was over, we went and found some of my mom's friends who were there as well and we looked at cars. I am getting one myself; it ain't my Pontiac solstice or anything, but it's going to be a Mustang Mach 1. Really awesome car; I'll post pics of it when I get a chance. I got some sushi, and then a little while later we headed back to the hotel b/c we were getting up early again, 4 am, so we could leave and head home.
Basically that's all we did today; drove. Mom drove out of TN, had breakfast(at cracker barrel... again, and I took over. I drove us all the way through Alabama and into most of MS, then she finished the drive. Well, we got home and guess what I had to do? Besides unpacking... more homework! I just finished it, so I am officially dead, and I thankfully still have two more days before going back to work.
Oh yes, I transferred out of Security, and for the next few months until I go back to Florida; I will be working in Valet. Which is good; I'm outta the cigarette smoke,no drunks really, and all that jazz.
