Back!

Sun Jun 7, 2009, 5:04 PM
Well, i'm back from vacation, and I wish I wasn't. I had so much fun! The first day we boarded the ship rather quickly, and went and had lunch at the buffet. Omg, it was so goood; I had stir fry, chicken fingers, and this mango mousse cake. Then it was time to do the lifeboat drill where we get our lifevest and go to the station where we would board a life boat. When that was over, we were free to do what we wanted, and vacation started, so we went on the side of the ship to watch the ship depart from the dock and the river. For most of the first day we wondered around and learned the ship, and were what was located. At 6:00pm we had dinner in the dinning room, and met our waiter, water boy/ runner, and the Maiter D; Joji. He was from India, which is where most of the workers were from, and told us to call him Clark Gable or something like that. After dinner we went to the show and watched the dancers and singers, and they were amazing.

Second day:

We were at sea, and we basically went to the events, games, shows, and I took some pictures, as well as relaxed and read my new book. The Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen novel. I can't wait to see that movie, it's gonna be reallly good. That night we had a comedian, female, and she was funny for the pg, early version of the show, but at midnight's R rated show... she wasn't very good. She was beyond vulgar.

Third day:

We landed at Key West, Fl and debarked around 11 to catch the tram that brought us into downtown Key West. I took a few pictures, not much because I spent most of my time in shops as my mom and her friends looked at shirts and gifts, etc. We did go visit the Hog's Breath saloon, then after that they wanted to go back to the ship. I grabbed my book and went and lounged around until lunch time, and went to the events again until dinner, and then went to the show which was the dancers again. They were awesome, that nights theme was Show tunes and such. It was really good, and I wished I could have taken pics. Basically, it was a relax day for me.

4th day:

We arrived at Nassau, Bahama an we waited till our guide came to get us for snorkeling. Yep, i went snorkeling in Nassau. I wish I had brought my digital camera, but I was afraid it would get stolen or knocked overboard. I did bring a under water camera to take pics with while swimming; I need to get those developed soon. We had to walk like 20 minutes till we got to the dock the boats were located at, and then boarded and set sail. it was a sailboat to, hehe. during the trip I watched the clear water, and saw how deep it was in areas, and I figured where my character Jay got his fear of open water, lol. I was really nervous as I watched the water get really deep, and kept having images of Jaws from Jaws revenge popping in my head, and eating me XD Finally got to the reef, put on my gear, took a deep breath and dove in. I got over my short fear of open water, and had a blast. My mom and her friends thought I would have trouble snorkeling, nope, I took off and left everyone behind, including the guides, hahaha! I think I really am a fish outta water. Spent about an hour in the water, and then we had to leave :( and head back to the island. The guides then served rum punch, or fruit punch, and snacks as everyone began to dance with the guides to various songs. Much fun :D We then went shopping around town, and I got a calender with Caribbean recipes, rum cake (yummm), and I think a shirt.... maybe. Went back to the ship, took a shower, and had to dress up for the Captain's dinner. I had lobster, shrimp, and some veggies and potatoes. Mom ended up ordering me another lobster dinner, and then we had dessert... too much food. When that was over we went and took elegant pictures through the cruise, and went to the show. I think it was the comedian Happy Cole,a nd if you ever have to chance to see him or look him up, do so!! He was soooo funny; I couldn't breath the whole night, and at one point choked on my pina colada.

5th day:

On the fifth day we arrived at Freeport, Bahama, and I fell in love with this island. It may be a tourist place, but there is still that island solitude, homey feel, and I love that place. Well, mom and I woke up early that morning because we were going to swim/play with dolphins! SQUEE!!! The bus finally arrived, and we all boarded ready to go. The driver then turns to us in his accent and says "My clutch iz not work very well, so we not go as fast as normal... but the breaks work great!"
Me: ... o.O'
The breaks didn't sound so great either.
We arrive at the place and get our bracelets, and get on the boat. The captain takes us through the channels instead of the ocean, apparently the waves were rough that morning. The ride was very nice, and I saw a lot of beautiful homes, and they had a ship there named "Ghost" that was in a few movies including Pirates of the Caribbean. Then, as we turn this one bank, behold! A dolphin was jumping outta the water along side the trainers for a run through the ocean. We had arrived! We meet the trainer who would be with us, and introduced us to Exuma and Coral, the two female dolphins that would be hanging with us today. At first we sat around a little dock with a platform built under the water that we could stand on and interact with the dolphins. Well, while I was sitting there with my feet in the water, there was apparently a male dolphin that wasn't suppose to be there and he flipped outta the water and the dove under me, freaking me out because I wasn't expecting it. As well as , first time being around a dolphin. She finally got him out of the way and the girls arrived. She showed them off, and told us about the all the dolphins they had there, and people asked questions. Then she took us in small groups to enter the water to interact with the dolphins. It was great, and coral was pregnant, so she would take off suddenly and not come back for a while; she was being moody, haha. Exuma would go through the lagoon and find trash and bring it back to the trainer so she could get a fish. Throughout the event, she would have them do tricks, and one of them was showing how fast they swim. The two girls went zooming around the smaller lagoon and created a wave that went over everyone,a nd then they went back and sprayed a few people. It was finally my turn to go in, and i had Exuma, who apparently loved to use me as a leaning/support post, because the whole time she was leaning on me and using my thigh as a brace to hold herself on. Then she rolled over onto her back so I could scratch her belly,a nd found her tickle spot which her flipper kept slapping me since she was leaning on me. I was also sprayed by her, and she talked, and then the trainer asked if I wanted to touch her teeth, which I did, and I also petted her tongue which she loved. Sadly, it was time to leave, and we went back to the shop and bought our pictures they took of us, of the dolphins kissing our cheeks, hehe, dolphin kisses. I also bought a stuffed shark, and when we got back to the dock we went to the shops there and bought a bunch of stuff. Again, had dinner and watched the show.

6th & 7th day:

Both days we were at sea heading back to New Orleans, so basically it was shopping on the ship, relaxing, eating, and watching the shows. We also went to all of the games and events because we had a contest going on. Red vs Blue team, I know, I thought of Roosterteeth the whole time with Halo Red vs Blue, and I was on the Red team. I want to draw the idea that popped up into my head, among many others. One of the nights shows with the dancers was themed "The Beatles", so the whole show was with the beatles, and it was amazing. We also bought these expensive watches they had on sale 2 for 39.99, and I also got a silver chain with sapphires and diamonds in them, and a bracelet made for only 77.00. Got a few more shirts, and other stuff I can't recall at the moment.

We arrived back to land on Saturday afternoon, so I had like a 7 & 1/2 day cruise for the price of a 5 day cruise. It was great, and we're going on another one next year in March. My mom is also going to look for land in Freeport so we can get a summer home there. Sweet, I love that place! I'm debating where to post the pictures of my trip. Do I wanna post them here, or on Lj, or create an account with photobucket/flicker, or something. I may post a few here. Right now I'm at the hospital with my grandma, because she was brought in, and wants someone to stay with her all night. Tonight, she wanted me,a nd next week I have to come back again, if she's still in here, she seems a little better right now, but she's still bad because her kidneys are failing her. I also have to work tomorrow, which is not good, cause I really hate that place now. The supervisor got mad because I said I was going to miss work due to my grandma's health. Screw that, when any of the others call in they let them get away with it, me? I get points, and I know I got 6 points tonight because of a drawing. This is just one of the many BS going on, a lot of it is due to favoritism. It really pisses me off to no end. Then they guys in the higher positions are constantly getting on our cases, saying we're slacking, when day shift and grave shift sleep on their post and not even get a write up. There are 14 of us on my shift and 9 of us are ready to walk out. My mom says I can go to Florida any time I want, but I have to wait a bit becaus eof my grandma's health. This freaken sucks... I can't stand this place anymore, and they keep changing my days off because the favorites want those days. Misty wanted weds and thursdays off, I had them, so she got them. I get thursdays and Fridays off, now I come back and misty has them. I am not going to take this anymore, they don't even ask me, because I have plans already made for Fridays like this week i have my high school reunion I paid for and I am not missing it. then I have some weddings to go to that are on fridays, and a friends 21st b-day... not missing them. >:(

Woww, sounds like an amazing cruise!! I'd sure like to go to those places you went to... Dolphiiiiiiinss... ahhh... I am envious! :D

I'm discovering I have a fear of open water too, it just kinda freaks me out... hehe, glad it didnt phase you once you got in, sounds like you had a great time :)

For my pics I usually post good and/or creative ones here and the rest elsewhere--but you do whatever you want. I'd love to see what you got!

That kinda stinks about your work... there are way too many places these days with favoritism... Blane had the same problem when he worked at ChuckECheese--they were constantly calling him in to cover when the favorites wanted off. *grumbles* Much luck, and good health to your grandma.

It was an amazing cruise, maybe you can come with us next time. Yes, dolphiiiiiinss! Heehee :D

Same here, it just freaked me out, but once I got in I was ok, actually more than ok, even though I saw a barricuda at one point. Unlike my character Jay, he won't go in open water if he can help it.

Yea, I just don't know, i'm being lazy right now, hehe.

Yes, it does stink, literally, and metaphorically. Thank you, I hope my grandma gets better as well.
